How to protect your skin in summers
Summers is the prime time for the adventures like a day at the beach, picnics at the park, hiking, camping and weekends outing. We all love to enjoy excursion either there are summers or winters, but we have to face challenges too like exposure to UV rays, pollution, and other skin related problems.
Everyone has experienced summer skin woes, right from premature wrinkles, dark marks, glowing skin and what not. No one is fond of summers. However, all of us have to go through it. We all know about the simple skin care tips like drinking more water, moisturize daily, apply sunscreen and wear sunglasses while going outside.
Summer is the season to pay more attention to your skin and keep your skin fresh and hydrated. Let’s discuss what all can be done to protect your skin during this summer.
1. All about sunscreens
Before you go out in summers, it’s essential to apply sunscreen. There are many confusing things related to sunscreens it’s not as simple as just applying it, and there are ample varieties, when to apply, which sunscreen to use, what SPF sunscreen to use. We all use sunscreen during summer, but most of us are not aware of the amount of cream that must be used. If you want complete protection of SPF, you have to apply at least 1 ounce. Sunscreen must be applied 20-30 minutes before the sun exposure so that all the ingredients thoroughly mix in the skin. One important thing is that you have to reapply the sunscreen after a couple of hours after swimming and sweating.
2. Make water your friend
When you spend more time outside in the weather under hot sun will create more sweat and dehydration. According to a study make sure that you must drink minimum eight glasses of water every day. Water helps you in keeping hydrated. Along with water, you can also consume water-rich foods and fruits like watermelon, muskmelon, and cucumber. Watermelon has 91% of water and hydrates your skin. Antioxidants are the need for your skin during summer, and they help to rejuvenate skin cells. Vitamins C is known for boosting collagen and elastin. Vitamin C is easily found in serums and moisturizers and is a powerful antioxidant. Skin is the largest organ of the body, so it is more important to take more care to your skin. Antioxidants protect your skin by limiting the production of free radicals which damage skin cells. Also, use essentials oils like primrose oil which is extracted from the ripe seeds, you can apply this oil before going to bed. Primrose contains essential fatty acids which are not produced by the body and help in repairing the skin barrier by maintaining the elasticity and hydration.
